@David There were a few typos in the commands Stefan suggested. (Replace sunprc with sunrpc)
So try: sudo sh -c 'echo 32767 >/proc/sys/sunrpc/nfs_debug' And sudo sh -c 'echo 32767 >/proc/sys/sunrpc/rpc_debug' I'd be interested to see whether this clears up any crashes at your end as well.
