Public bug reported: Binary package hint: python-qt4
python-qt4 (PyQt4) is broken on Lucid Lynx. This has been reported in bug #561303 and a fix was issued for Maverick, but the bug was closed without fixing the problem on Lucid, which is a long term support release. I am opening this bug to track the resolution of the problem specifically for Lucid Lynx. The problem is present in the current package version on Lucid (4.7.2-0ubuntu1). It can be observed even on the simple built-in examples: $ python /usr/share/doc/python-qt4-doc/examples/dialogs/standarddialogs.py QInotifyFileSystemWatcherEngine::addPaths: inotify_add_watch failed: No such file or directory QFileSystemWatcher: failed to add paths: /home/ubuntukaka/.config/ibus/bus Bus::open: Can not get ibus-daemon's address. IBusInputContext::createInputContext: no connection to ibus-daemon Segmentation fault This is not only a cosmetic issue; programs are failing, which affects the exit status, and it also breaks any kind of insulated unit testing. As per discussed in the other bug report, the problem was solved in version 4.7.3 ( http://article.gmane.org/gmane.comp.python.pyqt- pykde/18961 ). For reference, the corresponding bug report on Fedora: https://bugzilla.redhat.com/show_bug.cgi?id=583951 (they seem to have bumped the version to 4.7.3) ** Affects: python-qt4 (Ubuntu) Importance: Undecided Status: New ** Tags: lucid -- You received this bug notification because you are a member of Ubuntu Bugs, which is subscribed to Ubuntu. https://bugs.launchpad.net/bugs/694541 Title: Lucid Lynx: PyQt4 applications crash at exit -- ubuntu-bugs mailing list ubuntu-bugs@lists.ubuntu.com https://lists.ubuntu.com/mailman/listinfo/ubuntu-bugs
