Hello
Have you already tried from grub menu, to select to start the affected kernel
in recovery mode, the select to repair broken packages?

If not solve, run the working kernel, open synaptic and in the search box type
linux, then mark for complete removal the entries for 2.6.35 kernel, then go to
this link and install the latest maverick kernel:
http://kernel.ubuntu.com/~kernel-ppa/mainline/v2.6.37-rc2-maverick/
installing on first
linux-headers-2.6.37-020637rc2_2.6.37-020637rc2.201011160905_all.deb

then header and then image for your architecture.
