Hi, I think I'm having the same or a very similar problem on my 10.10
install. My system is freezing randomly where any mouse or keyboard
action is ignored. I have to do a cold reboot to get it up again. The
system also seems to go very hot after a while as the fan starts working
very hard. My feeling is that it's isolated to the graphics and
especially the Nvidia driver, but I haven't had the chance to log in
through ssh and have a look behind yet.

I'm running Ubuntu 10.10 and it's been running fine since the install.
These problems started about a week ago. I can't find any driver
upgrades around that time. But I'm updating the system on a regular
basis, so any other update might have caused this. I just don't know
wich one.

Looking through the messages log, I can't find anything particular
happening around the crashes. But I do have loads of entries saying
"NVRM: os_raise_smp_barrier(), invalid context!".

I've tried to add pci=nommconf to Grub2 without any success.
