Well, then the easy answer is to do neither.

No thanks.   People love to add features.   You can't stop someone who 
has a pet idea that they haven't
thought through very carefully.    They just produce self-justifying 
reasons and don't listen.

Me, I'll just turn it off when it appears.    Then in 5 years, either it 
will become useful,
or the distros will cause it to default to "off".
