I have now tested on the Mainline kernel linux- image-2.6.37-999-generic_2.6.37-999.201101081705_amd64.deb, and it has the same problem: no audio and the call trace. I also tried the older Ubuntu kernel linux-image-2.6.32-26-generic, and it DOES have sound.
