I noticed today after leaving the view on "week" for a long time, the week view became the blank one, and the multi-week one updated properly.
So perhaps this bug has more to do with keeping the same view for a long time (like overnight). As a sanity, I plan to remove my entire $HOME/.thunderbird directory and reconfigure from scratch. I am thinking that I might be seeing remnants of an old config directory and an upgrade? It's not just this problem that makes me suspicious... I am seeing Thunderbird lock up frequently at home, but not at work. I am thinking that my config directory at home might have something in it that's causing these problems. Will report back later.
