Thank you for taking the time to report this bug and helping to make Ubuntu better.
I've tried to reproduce this on a clean Maverick Server 10.10 installation; however nagios3 installs OK with no errors. The service check commands that are causing the errors during the installation are provided by the nagios-plugins-basic package which would appear to have been installed prior to installing nagios3. Please could you try purging this package as it would appear that the files in /etc/nagios-plugins/config have either been changed or are missing: sudo apt-get purge nagios-plugins-basic You can then attempt to complete the nagios3 install by running the following command: sudo apt-get install nagios3 This should also re-install the plugins package. Please update this bug if this resolves your issue. Thanks. ** Changed in: nagios3 (Ubuntu) Status: New => Incomplete -- You received this bug notification because you are a member of Ubuntu Bugs, which is subscribed to Ubuntu. https://bugs.launchpad.net/bugs/704766 Title: unable to install nagios3 -- ubuntu-bugs mailing list ubuntu-bugs@lists.ubuntu.com https://lists.ubuntu.com/mailman/listinfo/ubuntu-bugs
