** Description changed: Few weeks ago update broke h264-codec and now all h264-videos are played garbled. Sounds are ok. Here is sample video that isn't played correct: http://www.archive.org/download/aboyandhisblob-tas-theaxeman /aboyandhisblob-tas-theaxeman.avi I did not have any problems before the update with any h264 videos and video-files coded with other codecs are still played right. Here is info about my system: HP Pavilion dv5000, AMD Turion 64, 1024MB, laptop I'm sorry that I haven't had time to figure out what exact package broke the video playback. I'll add some info here when I have more time to investigate. + + --- + Edit: + --- + + I figured out that the package causing this was libavcodec0d + 3:0.cvs20060329-4ubuntu1 - after removing the package and installing + w32codecs (from dapper repository) h264-playback became normal.
