NOTE: I just changed to Linux Mint 10 for my laptop.
If you install SysInfo (gets it from Ubuntu Repository) you have the same problem with v0.7-3, I uninstalled it. Turns out the Mint "HardInfo" data + benchtest utility gets all the info anyway.
