@Shelby: you have not upgraded to the latest version. Please do so by issuing the following commands in a terminal:
$ sudo apt-get update $ sudo apt-get dist-upgrade Then if could post the result of $ ps auwx | grep unity and the file ~/.xsession-errors that would be fantastic.
