Public bug reported:

Binary package hint: update-manager

Running up to date Edgy, synaptic works, all ok.

Tried update-manager -d, also as gksu and also -d -c

No upgrade option shown, says system up to date.

Expected to see the 7.04 beta upgrade option

The only error being reported at the console is:
"Introspect error: The name org.freedesktop.UpdateManager was not provided by
any .service files
no listening object (The name org.freedesktop.UpdateManager was not provided by
any .service files) "

thanks

Jon
