Hi David, Might be the symptom makes this conclusion in your mind, but I need to disagree. The laptop has been set up for dual boot and the other OS (Windows Vista) handles it correctly with its driver. It is an ubuntu (might be a driver) problem. But without driver the hardware recognition and capability detection of the sound card must be correct, isn't it?
