Sorry for late reply Jani. I found the solution to be to use Time out in HTTconnection. For which I found the code too.
Regarding the Ubuntu carrying both sugar-0.88 and sugar-0.90, I think we have mistakenly used the packages which doesn't contain the Conflicts and Replaces. I will look into it and reply.
