Public bug reported: Binary package hint: lcdproc
Arch: Only reproduced on X86-64 so far, there is at least one other reported instance of this on the Ubuntu forums Ubuntu Edgy with lcdproc 0.5.0-1 (i.e most current package), same configuration worked on previous Dapper release on the same hardware. Loading LCDd either manually or via the boot script with the hd44780 driver enabled in LCDd.conf will result in LCDd segfaulting immediately. The same instance of the package will load and function with the curses driver loaded as an alternative to test the configuration. In order to reproduce there is no requirement to actually have an hd44780 LCD attached as the segfault will occur even without the display attached. To reproduce simply enable the driver in LCDd.conf with Driver=hd44780 and attempt to start LCDd in foreground mode LCDd -f -c /etc/LCDd.conf Given that hd44780 is probably one of the more common USB attached LCD modules I am making the assumption that this bug is specific to the AMD64 architecture as otherwise I think there would be more mention or it on the Ubuntu forums and most likely a bug already submitted. ** Affects: lcdproc (Ubuntu) Importance: Undecided Status: Unconfirmed -- lcdproc segfaults with hd44780 driver https://bugs.launchpad.net/bugs/105689 You received this bug notification because you are a member of Ubuntu Bugs, which is the bug contact for Ubuntu. -- ubuntu-bugs mailing list ubuntu-bugs@lists.ubuntu.com https://lists.ubuntu.com/mailman/listinfo/ubuntu-bugs
