I haven't heard boo about this other than from people who still have the problem. It's a complicated bug, and I imagine some folks have the problem and attribute it more to hardware than Ubuntu.
Given this but was submitted in May of 2010, and it is still UNASSIGNED I don't expect you'll hear much on it any time soon. I am still running 10.04 with my patched kernel (which I am very hesitant to upgrade)...I'd love to hear those patches were applied to mainline kernel, but given other posts of people saying they have the problem...I can see it has not been corrected.
