Public bug reported:

Binary package hint: grub2

After installing CentOS in an empty space on the disk without choosing
to install the boot loader (old Grub), running "update-grub" on Ubuntu
lists CentOS:

Found linux image: /boot/vmlinuz-2.6.38-3-generic-pae
Found initrd image: /boot/initrd.img-2.6.38-3-generic-pae
Found linux image: /boot/vmlinuz-2.6.32-24-generic-pae
Found initrd image: /boot/initrd.img-2.6.32-24-generic-pae
Found memtest86+ image: /boot/memtest86+.bin
Found CentOS release 5.5 (Final) on /dev/sda4
done

But in /boot/grub/grub.cfg, CentOS isn't listed and doesn't show in the
menu during boot. The partition layout is as follows:

1 Primary ext4 Ubuntu /
2 Primary Extended (added by the Ubuntu installer)
3 Primary ext3 CentOS /boot
4 Primary ext3 CentOS /
5 Logical swap (shared)

By default, CentOS creates 2 partitions. One for /boot and one LVM PV
with a VG for / and swap.

I've attached the output of sfdisk -l /dev/sda and cfdisk -Ps /dev/sda.
