I'm curious, are there any on-going efforts to develop a telepathy
connection manager for Skype? I've seen fleeting references to something
called telepathy-spirit, although it would seem that this is/was a
closed sourced project run by Nokia (bad form!) and as such is only
available for Maemo/ARM.

Frankly I'm getting rather fed up using Skype's own client and the
telepathy-haze/libpurple workarounds are tedious and feature incomplete
(no audio/video calls!). So the sooner an official telepathy connection
manager for Skype appears the better (SIP simply isn't as widespread,
and trying to convince a Windows/Skype user to switch to a SIP provider
is like pulling teeth)
