Public bug reported:

Hello all!

Last Wednesday I began to have problems in my SO with Mozilla Thunderbird
(reported bug https://bugs.launchpad.net/bugs/105400).
Since that day, the system has begun to fail progressively: first Gnome
Enviroment gave me problems, then Mozilla Firefox could not
open more than one label (otherwise, crashed) and finally, the system got
blocked.

I restarted my computer and Ubuntu 11 could not load (black screen saying
'System halted'). I tried with Ubuntu 11 safe mode and more
or less worked (though Gnome gave continuous errors). Yesterday, Ubuntu 11 safe
mode could not load (another black screen saying
'System halted') so I tried with Ubuntu 10. At first, it worked but minutes
later the system got blocked.

And so on...

Now I can only use Ubuntu 10 SafeMode, with a lot of Error Alerts, and only
opening two applications as much. Switching between
Work Areas does not work, for example. I am very worried because I have a lot
of Gbytes of important data in my computer, and do
not know what to do. If the system was Windows, I sweared it has a big VIRUS (I
know in Linux this is not possible... is it?).

One friend has told me maybe I have a hardware problem with a Memory
Card.

I do not know what to do... can anybody help me, please??????

Thank you very very much!!!!
