I am concerned that this patch possibly didn't make it into the -server kernel (or possibly the -virtual kernel), only the -generic kernel:

I have to check the behavior as soon as I can, and report back, but I suspect the 2.6.32-29-server kernel did not get these patches and still has the bad behavior.
