I am a heavy user of bcm43xx (in the incarnation of Airport Extreme on an iBook G4), and unencrypted networks have always worked well. However, I don't use ndiswrapper, but the free driver that comes with the kernel (so I just need to install the firmware with bcm43xx-fwcutter).
Chris, since you also seem to have this problem with the native driver, can you please upgrade to latest feisty and attach /var/log/daemon.log after a failed connection attempt? ** Changed in: network-manager (Ubuntu) Status: Confirmed => Needs Info -- Unable to connect to unsecured/unencrypted wireless networks (bcm43xx-based chips only?) https://bugs.launchpad.net/bugs/73759 You received this bug notification because you are a member of Ubuntu Bugs, which is the bug contact for Ubuntu. -- ubuntu-bugs mailing list [EMAIL PROTECTED] https://lists.ubuntu.com/mailman/listinfo/ubuntu-bugs
