>> Is this reproducible? Yes. I am able to reproduce this every time.
>> If so, what specific steps should we take to recreate this bug? I suppose it would be helpful if you have a laptop and an external display. Here are the steps: i) Configure the display to run on the external monitor only, and switch the display on the laptop monitor off. ii) Shut down the laptop. iii) Disconnect the external display and boot. The login screen does not show up as the laptop display remains switched off. >> Do you get the issue if you don't use the display capplet Using xrandr, for example? I haven't tried this, and since this is the weekend, I'm not in a position to try it out until Monday (the external monitor is at the office). >> delete the xml config on disk I haven't tried this either, but it works if I delete the .gconf and .gnome2 folders. -- You received this bug notification because you are a member of Ubuntu Bugs, which is subscribed to Ubuntu. https://bugs.launchpad.net/bugs/733278 Title: Display doesn't switch back to primary when secondary monitor is removed -- ubuntu-bugs mailing list ubuntu-bugs@lists.ubuntu.com https://lists.ubuntu.com/mailman/listinfo/ubuntu-bugs
