We deliberately try and preserve folks' launchers during upgrades. So, if that's what you are referring to, it's as planned! We don't want to reset favorite launchers on upgrade (though we might add new apps if they are being added to the default, we would not remove or reset other favorites). So that's why you have so many launchers. As for the black space, that looks like a Dash bug.
