Karl,
If you check "Use ..." and have multiple routes provided by your VPN you
should also set them in the Routes box above that checkbox (might be
slightly different under Kubuntu). Otherwise only the routes sent to you
from the VPN server are used.
Marking Fix Released, since there is not only the checkbox but a way to
manually set the routes to use.
