Thanks for the additional info, Sven. I set the ubuntu streamripper to that stream, and got your symptoms on the track 'Lhind - Världen Utanför (Dreamfactory Radio Mix)'. No backticks, but looks like something hurt streamripper.
When I took the problem upstream, the reply was "Try using 1.62-beta-2, that version handles string conversions differently than 1.61 series, and might solve your problem." I've just installed 1.62-beta-2, and I'm now running it on that stream.
