This looks very much like a dupe of bug 702090 which *should* now be fixed. That bug involves fixes to a bunch of different components, so even though you're on the correct kernel version I'm suspecting one of those pieces aren't at the right version. Unfortunately since 702090 technically is lower down in the system than X the X bug report tools don't capture the version numbers of these pieces.
Please confirm that you have the following versions of each package installed: udev - 166-0ubuntu4 plymouth - 0.8.2-2ubuntu18 module-init-tools - 3.12-1ubuntu4 gdm - 2.32.0-0ubuntu12 After verifying you have those versions, reboot the system, and verify whether the bug is still present. ** Changed in: xserver-xorg-video-intel (Ubuntu) Status: New => Incomplete -- You received this bug notification because you are a member of Ubuntu Bugs, which is subscribed to Ubuntu. https://bugs.launchpad.net/bugs/738481 Title: System app reports crash on bootup [i915gm] GPU lockup 1044b07a (ESR: 0x00000011 PGTBL_ER: 0x00000100 IPEHR: 0x01000000) -- ubuntu-bugs mailing list ubuntu-bugs@lists.ubuntu.com https://lists.ubuntu.com/mailman/listinfo/ubuntu-bugs
