Binary package hint: ubiquity
using the ubuntu-headless omap4 image oem-config seems to run fine on
serial console. after applying teh package changes it properly clears
the screen and drops to a serial login prompt showing teh newly set
hostname. nontheless teh user created during install does not seem to
exists.
there is no trace of the user in /etc/passwd, group or in the /home dir.
looking at the syslog it does not look like user-setup was run at all.
