Good point, Danny. Definitely there should be notification to user that table creation is necessary first, even if that notification is only an error dialog.
I wonder if this hanging error is not coming up for me because I built my OO.o 2.2 from RPM (because I'm running Dapper and I can't get 2.2 from the repository)?
