Hi, my comp was dying intermittently. White flashing lines after running smoothly. I found a thread that had this fix: go to System, Administration, Synaptic Package Manager. once you give it you password, look for grub. in Ubuntu 10.04 i think it installs grub-pc automatically. choose grub it will intall it and uninstall grub-pc. This seems to have fixed my OS
