Two years on, nothing happened. I must say, I don't really see the point of this feature request.
Ubuntu is almost NEVER shipping the current VLC version. The upstream VideoLAN project will ignore any bug not reported against the latest VLC version, so it is not possible for Ubuntu users to file bugs there. So that leaves Launchpad. But then there's two problems: First, it would have to be an Ubuntu specific patch to VLC. Second, my experience sorting hundreds of Ubuntu VLC shows that nobody actually takes REAL care of VLC bugs in Launchpad. So directing users there is basically a waste of time. So overall, I don't see the point of a Bug report menu item, unless you want it to show "Sorry, you cannot do that". ** Changed in: vlc (Ubuntu) Status: Confirmed => Opinion -- You received this bug notification because you are a member of Ubuntu Bugs, which is subscribed to Ubuntu. https://bugs.launchpad.net/bugs/315248 Title: vlc does not have a Report a bug button -- ubuntu-bugs mailing list ubuntu-bugs@lists.ubuntu.com https://lists.ubuntu.com/mailman/listinfo/ubuntu-bugs
