I have an Asus X5DID-SX058V, Intel Pentium T4400 CPU, Atheros Communications Inc. AR9285 Wireless Network Adapter (PCI-Express) (rev 01).
Before seeing this bug report I experienced this bug and I tried to troubleshoot it. I blacklisted the ath9k module and verified that the machine didn't crash. Then I tried modprobe ath9k and with my great surprise it worked. I was then able to work without problems until my battery finished its charge.
