This seems to happen again upon resuming from suspend (checked using scp from my other machine again), until the ath9k module is reloaded. Here's a workaround: Create a file /etc/pm/config.d/modules, chmod +x it, and have it contain the following line: SUSPEND_MODULES="ath9k"
