Hey Zaher,

     The only thing that worked for me with the fan ( believe me I 
looked ! ) was to put a 30 second delay in the grub boot menu,and leave 
the rest of grub alone. Then do cold boots.  This seems to allow the fan 
to stabilize before ACPI takes over.  I think I read somewhere about a 
"race" condition.....

In grub change the line that looks like this to :

GRUB_TIMEOUT=30

as for your Fn (brightness?) issue look here:

There is a ton of stuff on the forums - you will see.  I do not think 
you will get much of a response here in Launchpad - the forums are a
