Brand new HP G-42. I once installed Ubuntu 10.10 successfully but did
not use the machine for a few weeks and forgot password. Tried to
reinstall from CD and specified to remove existing partitions and use
entire disk. The installation stops at about the 4/5 mark and displays
a message that the CPU Power or Thermal Limit have been exceeded, though
the laptop is cool to the touch.

Bought cool plate for PC and tried again but got the same error and the
messages alternate between CPU or MPU thermal limit exceeded ad nauseam
without finishing the installation.

BTW a password hint option would be a very helpful feature.
