No, it is a bug. Samba shares don't work unless the user installs a KDE package that is mentioned nowhere, and requires technical knowledge to even track down. Ubuntu's flagship cloud product doesn't work with Kubuntu without mad hacking. That is, to be frabk, bullshit. Several other components are either misconfigured out of the box, or are missing crucial libs to make them work. Kubuntu is the WORST KDE based distro I have used lately, and I have only used it lately because the repos for Pardus are so small. Go download Pardus and give it a whirl, and see if it doesn't shed some light on why Kubuntu really does suck.
