I have figured out the following details... the bar only unfolds it self completely if I really reach the edge of the screen (top left of the Ubuntu button in Unity)... I can even DJ in and out and it kind of fade (on and off) the bar
I do believe its wrong, cause it should simply SHOW UP (even if with a cute fade in effect) when the mouse is hovering the button, and not lock into only if I reach the exact corner... Now, regarding the the impossibility of clicking on icons out of reach (to the bottom of the bar) it seems that Unity is trying to help me by hiding some information (that there are more icons) unless I ever so gently put my mouse off the bar (a little few pixels to the right of it) but not so much that it will decide to evaporate again... in this configuration it will tilt the icons in the bottom revealing there are more available... if I manage to get close to the bottom without geting further to the right and, god forbid, hovering over the bar, it will tilt the upper ones and I can actually click where I want (like the trash bin)... if I accidently hover the bar (while trying not to get to far from it) before it decides its time to fold the uppers ones, if untilts the bottom ones again rendering them out of reach... I have to start by leaving it from the top of the bar again and keeping close attention to the distance. I believe its a pretty stupid ergonometric decision to have the user gigling with the mouse just to click the bottom icons. Can it be set to either LOCK IN the left of the screen if I get no further than, say, the MIDDLE of the screen? Or, maybe, not untilt the bottom ones if there are more to show, and acctually unfold them (folding the top ones) while I reach the bottom zone of the bar (just like I believe it used to work for maverick/lucid netbook edition)? I believe I can try to capture the process here, if requested... -- You received this bug notification because you are a member of Ubuntu Bugs, which is subscribed to Ubuntu. https://bugs.launchpad.net/bugs/756379 Title: the unity bar (on the left) keeps freezing -- ubuntu-bugs mailing list ubuntu-bugs@lists.ubuntu.com https://lists.ubuntu.com/mailman/listinfo/ubuntu-bugs
