Karl, I don't see the issue no more, now it always open the preferences applet correctly. Strange thing I haven't done any updates or manually change. I've tried to do some reboot, tried to launch it from terminal and directly from indicator-datetime menu, it works well. Don't know, I hope it is not randomic and tomorrow will still work ! :)
