I must say that this behaviour is a let down for portuguese/brazilian
users. At least for me (BR), I'm very well used to typing ' and C to
produce Ç , and I really hope that someday this can work in ubuntu "out
of the box" . After all, internationalization isn't a priority of this
distro?

When I give out free ubuntu CD's to my friends, I expect them to use it
and enjoy it as much as I do - but it ruins my advocacy when one of
them calls me to ask "why am I getting ć 's instead of ç 's when using
OpenOffice"... not being able to TYPE correctly is surely a serious
problem for me.
