Thank you for your bug report, however;

 * Marking as invalid in aptitude, aptitude technically does exactly what it is 
supposed to do.
 * Marking as wontfix in edubuntu-desktop, removing a meta-package should not 
remove all its dependencies.

To remove artwork after installation, the best way to do so is to remove
the relevant artwork packages (edubuntu-artwork, edubuntu-wallpapers,
edubuntu-plymouth-theme, etc)
