Yes, I can confirm this. What happened was that Banshee used to use the
banshee-1 translation domain, and the banshee-1.mo file was shipped in
language packs accordingly.

However, at some point the domain in banshee changed from banshee-1 to
banshee. I just noticed it last week and I changed it in Launchpad, so
that the next language pack after beta-2 contains banshee.mo
