Public bug reported: Binary package hint: xorg
New install of Kubuntu 11.04 Natty Narwahl. Emachines e442, Xorg verson 1:7.6+4ubuntu3, ATI Technologies Inc M880G [Mobility Radeon HD 4200] with the generic open source radeon driver. Viewing Flash video in full screen on web browsers causes the Xserver to crash. The only solution is to go to the virtual console, kill firefox with the killall or kill -9 PID command, and restart the computer. Restarting KDM leads to a loss of network connections. Steps to recreate: 1. Open Firefox, Chrome, or Rekonq 2. Play flash video 3. Hit the full screen button The bug persists when trying to view videos with hardware acceleration enabled. Disabling hardware acceleration causes videos to start in full screen, but exit immediately. Enabling the fglrx driver from the "Additional driver" utility solves the problem, but brings on others, not related to the flash issue. Additional information on demand.
