Public bug reported: Binary package hint: grub-pc
First of, I'm not sure which package is responsible for this bug. Reading on the net suggests that grub has something to do with it. So I try this first, please reassign as appropriate. What happens: I set grub to show a graphical menu and set gfxpayload=keep. So far this works fine, I get a blueish (KUbuntu) background with the grub menu on it. When I select the kernel to boot, the menu goes away and all I see during boot is the blue background. Actually the KUbuntu logo on a shaded background should now appear (at least that is what it was like in Maverick) and a text box to enter my password. The system works fine in the background, i.e. I can blindly enter my password and it boots. However I see nothing but the grub background. This is on Natty beta 2, updated today. My graphics card is an Nvidia Geforce 320M (in a Macbook Pro). grub-pc 1.99~rc1-13ubuntu1 plymouth 0.8.2-2ubuntu22 ** Affects: grub2 (Ubuntu) Importance: Undecided Status: New -- You received this bug notification because you are a member of Ubuntu Bugs, which is subscribed to Ubuntu. https://bugs.launchpad.net/bugs/766390 Title: Booting with framebuffer doesn't show anything -- ubuntu-bugs mailing list ubuntu-bugs@lists.ubuntu.com https://lists.ubuntu.com/mailman/listinfo/ubuntu-bugs
