Hi, well is not good news! I ran the command and a lot of old files were cleaned up and I was asked if ok- said yes. New files were updated and I was instructed to restart. Restarted and crashed!
The Ubuntu logo and sliding bar shows after initial boot but goes off after loading bar gets 2/3 way along, and then view goes to terminal view with final display of: init: re-direct main process (4502) terminated with status 127 So I cannot now retrieve the file you asked for. Its a bit late in the day here in Wellington, so I will await your response. I have some CD distros and also Puppy Linux CD so I can boot off one of those and then you can let me know(?) what I need to do to recover any logs etc. Or should I just start from the beginning by loading the latest version and installing it? My worry is that an install from start will reformat my hard drive, or isn't this the case these days?
