Etienne, it's actually not definite yet. SSSD 1.5.x is the first long- term maintenance branch we've declared.
In general, as the SSSD upstream is largely sponsored by Red Hat and is a main component of Red Hat Enterprise Linux, it would be reasonable to assume that it will be maintained until the version included in Red Hat Enterprise Linux is no longer supported.
