Public bug reported: Binary package hint: firefox
When firefox (3.6.16) stays connected for a period of time (minutes to hours) to a web page (http://www.wunderground.com) which uses Flash heavily in updating its radar and incoming weather information (Flash version: 10.2.r159), the result can be a system lock up (mouse moves, but no menu item, panel item, or window button responds). In some cases I have been able to get my system back via restarting X via a ALT- SysRq-K command; in other cases, only a hard reboot. I have experienced this both on my Dell 1525N laptop and my ZaReason desktop, both running the same version of Firefox/flash. The reason why I suspect these two programs is that on the same page, when leaving the page loaded using Windows Vista and Firefox, Flash will crash and sometimes Firefox too (though not causing a system lockup).
