Public bug reported: Binary package hint: linux-image-2.6.20-15-generic
ACPI seems to be extremely slow. Suspending works, but takes approximately two minutes to complete a full cycle. Querying various /proc/acpi entries takes a long time. For example: $ time cat /proc/acpi/battery/BAT0/state present: yes capacity state: ok charging state: charging present rate: 2740 mW remaining capacity: 44660 mWh present voltage: 12572 mV real 0m8.508s user 0m0.004s sys 0m0.000s This causes some UI problems with some applications and applets that poll this file. In addition, hald takes a long time to start up (delaying most of the time on "modprobe battery" according to Bash's -x ) and lid and button ACPI events are not recognised at all. Identical problems with the latest stock Debian 2.6.18 and 2.6.20 kernels. ** Affects: linux-source-2.6.20 (Ubuntu) Importance: Undecided Status: Unconfirmed -- Extremely slow ACPI on Thinkpad R51e https://bugs.launchpad.net/bugs/107826 You received this bug notification because you are a member of Ubuntu Bugs, which is the bug contact for Ubuntu. -- ubuntu-bugs mailing list ubuntu-bugs@lists.ubuntu.com https://lists.ubuntu.com/mailman/listinfo/ubuntu-bugs
