the Ubuntu side?

Of course, I cannot speak for the entire Ubuntu community. Ubuntu relies
on volunteers such as yourself to help out with all parts of making the
distribution. For my own part, I'm following this with great interest,
but I'm not running linux-rt and this package has also been removed from
maverick/natty.

I've been working quite a bit with this during the past few months and
hopefully, the PA version shipping with Natty is more stable and usable
than ever before!

the software "just work" for the user.

For the next release, I hope to be able to work a little with "jack
detection" ( https://blueprints.launchpad.net/ubuntu/+spec/hwe-o-audio-
jack-detection ) to make it even better and more of "just works".
