Public bug reported: Binary package hint: tomcat5
Cleanly-installed Ubuntu Dapper system. <tt>[EMAIL PROTECTED] ~]$ apt-cache show tomcat5 Package: tomcat5 Priority: optional Section: universe/web Installed-Size: 336 Maintainer: Debian Java Maintainers <pkg-java-maintainers@lists.alioth.debian.org> Architecture: all Version: 5.0.30-9 Depends: kaffe (>= 2:1.1.6-3) | java-gcj-compat-dev (>= 1.0.41-1) | java2-runtime, libtomcat5-java (>= 5.0.30-9), adduser (>= 3.34), apache-utils (>= 1.3.33-1) | apache2-common</tt> Why can't sun-java5-jdk/jre/bin (whichever is necessary) be included in the Dependency list? Adding GCJ to my system has hijacked a couple of other programs' start-up scripts on my system (Limewire and DB Visualiser), causing me to have to produce work-arounds for those programs to be able to start up. I would prefer to not have GCJ on my system at all, as I have to use Sun's Java for work. GCJ is superfluous. ** Affects: tomcat5 (Ubuntu) Importance: Untriaged Status: Unconfirmed ** Description changed: Binary package hint: tomcat5 + + Cleanly-installed Ubuntu Dapper system. <tt>[EMAIL PROTECTED] ~]$ apt-cache show tomcat5 Package: tomcat5 Priority: optional Section: universe/web Installed-Size: 336 Maintainer: Debian Java Maintainers <pkg-java-maintainers@lists.alioth.debian.org> Architecture: all Version: 5.0.30-9 Depends: kaffe (>= 2:1.1.6-3) | java-gcj-compat-dev (>= 1.0.41-1) | java2-runtime, libtomcat5-java (>= 5.0.30-9), adduser (>= 3.34), apache-utils (>= 1.3.33-1) | apache2-common</tt> Why can't sun-java5-jdk/jre/bin (whichever is necessary) be included in the Dependency list?
