  Binary package hint: xserver-xorg-video-intel

  Hi,

I'm using external monitor. It is detected correctly including
resolution modes. As default both monitor shows same resolution as
internal LCD native one and mirror mode is active. However when I
uncheck mirror mode and change resolution of external monitor using
preferences/monitors utility to anything else, external monitor shows
only portion of screen in left upper corner about same size as it was
showing before change, rest of the screen is black. Resolution was
changed because I can see smaller icons and bottom tool-bar is not
visible. It just shows part of it. The main laptop LCD shows nothing at
all if no mirror mode is active.

I tried also video driver from ppa:glasen/intel-driver. I could change
resolution of both monitors independently, but windows of all open
programs appeared as they were behind transparent shadow making them
very difficult to see. Only desktop, panels and gnome-terminal were
clear. All other programs were shadowed.

Is there some other driver I could use or workaround for any of these 2
  drivers?

  Thanks
