Thanks for your response. In the console when I try the command sudo modprobe radeon I get the following error:
[292.757763] radeon: Unknown parameter 'nonsense' FATAL: Error inserting radeon (/lib/modules/2.6.38-8-generic/kernel/drivers/gpu/drm/radeon/radeon.ko): Uknown symbol in module, or unknown parameter (see dmesg) dmesg just reports the error with nonsense. I had stopped gdm and everything. Any more ideas?
